History of the Emirate of Riyadh Province:

The Emirate of Riyadh (P) has a long and rich history. The region was first settled by humans in the Paleolithic period. In the 7th century AD, the region was part of the Umayyad Caliphate. In the 18th century, the region came under the control of the First Saudi state. In the 19th century, the region was conquered by the Ottoman Empire. In 1902, the region was recaptured by the Saudis, and it has been part of Saudi Arabia ever since.
